This is a video interview on culture, pedagogy, and neoliberalism in a time of growing authoritarianism that is a keynote presentation at a conference held in Brazil by Prof. Henry Giroux.
In the video, Professor Giroux talks about Education, public policies and the different types of inequalities. It analyses the way in which the ideological apparatus is used by neoliberalism to normalise the ideology of individual consumerism to the detriment of the collective well-being. Giroux invites us to connect hope to a notion of collective agency against the normalization of neoliberal authoritarianism in favour of the invention, creation and development of new discourses and practices in order to attain freedom in the struggle in defending democracy.
